Q. How does cold laser therapy work?
Cold laser therapy uses low frequency laser beams of typically 650nm and 808nm (nanometers) – for maximum healing – to elicit a cascade of healing changes within a target treatment area. Light photons from the laser beam penetrate soft tissue and stimulate cellular metabolism, regeneration, and repair. This “photobiomodulation” improves circulation, reduces inflammation, relieves pain, and accelerates tissue healing. The penetration levels can usually be adjusted from surface treatment of ½ inch to as deep as 2-3 inches for muscular treatments.
Q. What are the precautions of cold laser therapy?
A. Cold laser therapy should not be used over any suspicious cancerous lesions, or carcinoma, over the thyroid, on pregnant patients, and there should not be direct irradiation of the eyes, as the laser can cause permanent damage to the eyes. Always wear the safety goggles provided.
Q. What to expect after cold laser therapy?
A. Laser treatment is relaxing and some people may fall asleep. In some instances pain can increase or begin up to 24 hours after a treatment session. This is because the laser light starts the healing process. All healing begins with a slight amount of mild inflammation.
Q. How long does it take to see results from cold laser therapy?
A. Laser therapy produces results quickly. For most acute conditions, 2-3 treatments are all that’s needed. Chronic conditions take longer and might require 6 – 12 treatments. While these are the averages, each person is unique and healing time varies by person and condition. See the instructions/directions provided.
Q. What are the do’s and don’ts after laser treatment?
A. Avoid the following activities and products to minimize side effects and achieve the desired effects after a laser treatment: Avoid Sun Exposure, Saunas, and Hot Baths for Several Days. Avoid Tanning Lotions for Several Days. Avoid Lotions with Perfumes and Fragrances for 48 Hours on the affected area.
Q. How often should I do cold laser therapy?
Acute conditions may be treated daily, particularly if they are accompanied by significant pain. More chronic problems respond better when treatments are received 2 to 3 times a week, tapering to once every week or two as improvement is seen.
Q. How many cold laser treatments do I need?
A. The cold laser treatment lasts a substantial period of time, in some cases forever, and the results improve depending on the frequency of the treatments. It’s recommended that you receive the low level cold laser treatment between 5 and 30 times in order to gain the highest level of satisfaction. It depends on the healing and the type of issues you are faced with. Intra-muscular pain may require more treatment than a mild skin abrasion for example.
Q. Do I really need to wear the goggles?
A. Yes. Light can reflect from jewelry and other objects and damage the eyes.
Q. Does Cold Laser Treatment work for wrinkles?
A. Cold Laser treatment has beneficial effects on wrinkles, acne scars, hypertrophic scars, and healing of burns. It can reduce UV damage both as a treatment and as a prophylaxis (preventative).
Q. Does cold laser tighten skin?
A. This gentle laser treatment stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin in the skin to help smooth and tighten wrinkles and lines. It also kills bacteria and improves oxygen flow and energy within the skin to improve overall vibrancy and luster.
Q. Does cold laser therapy break up scar tissue?
Cold laser therapy can reduce old scars, but it cannot fully remove the scar. When used for old scars, laser therapy breaks down the damaged tissue and creates a new wound for the patient. By breaking down the damaged scar tissue, new skin can form and reduce the size of existing scars.

Q. Will my device work everywhere in the world?
Yes, the Cold Laser will work on 100-240v rated voltage, so you can use it anywhere in the world, with the appropriate adapter.
